One night Of Luxury! (well on a shoestring)

We are visiting Vegas in September and will be there for our 1st Wedding anniversary.

We are staying off strip but....

I%26#39;d like to arrange a suprise night in one of the ';4/5 star'; strip hotels and a meal in a nice romantic restaurant with a tasting menu possibly?

I%26#39;ve looked at A) a suite in a lower priced hotels or B) standard room in the likes of Paris or Bellagio.

looking to pay around $400 for a room (midweek) and $300 for the meal?

Would be nice if the meal and hotel were in the same place?

Any suggestions experts please?

Thanks

You may get the most bang for your buck and the Venetian. All there room are large suites... and you can get a nice one for around that price.

I would second the Venetian. Lovely suites(all the rooms are suites). Lots of great restaurants on the property and many more next door at the Palazzo and Wynn.

What a nice surprise! Are you planning on having dinner and then just whisking her off up the elevator? VERY romantic.

I would choose a lakeview room in Bellagio and dinner in Picasso or Prime or LeCirque.

I think you%26#39;ll find the room will be less than your budget so you can spend more on the dinner.

Try during midweek and you should be good.

Bellagio and Prime would be a great choice

What a great idea!

The room rate is totally dependent on when you go. I would vote for Wynn. Not huge rooms, but getting a room on a high floor with a strip view would certainly fill the bill for romantic. Something about the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows blow me away.

You might find a regular room for as little as $159, depending on the night. You could upgrade to a tower room, but for one night, the difference isn%26#39;t that great. Maybe a panoramic view room would be in your budget.

As for dinner, $300 leaves me with a big question. Are you wine drinkers, and does that include wine? If not, then you can go just about anywhere. If that includes wine, then you might be a bit more selective.

Alex, at Wynn has a divine tasting menu.

Picasso (as someone else mentioned) at Bellagio would more than fit the plan too!

Keep us posted!

if you%26#39;re planning on Venetian... I would attempt to Priceline it. You can usually get a room there for between $150-200 midweek from PL. There are strategies and online forums (such as biddingfortravel dot com) that will give you ideas on how much to bid for. Venetian is the only 5 star on the North Strip on PL.

As for the restaurant... I%26#39;d highly recommend the Alize at the Palms. Ask for a window seat. Or the Eiffel Tower with a window seat. Both are romantic. Alize has much better food... Eiffel Tower has a more romantic atmosphere.

Sorry to split hairs, but Venetian isn%26#39;t 5 stars. The only 5 star hotel rating in Vegas is The Tower Suites at Wynn. Venetian is 4 stars.

Still a good choice though!

Go back and read the thoughts posted by Warmwinds...

I found a really good special for a Bellagio Lakeview room for one night last summer (we can%26#39;t afford the more expensive hotels) to celebrate our 30th Anniversary.

Our room was in the center and right over the middle of the fountains. We turned the TV on to the channel that plays the music and spent the evening enjoying the romance of the fountains, music, and each other...it was truly a special night and one we will always remember!

ok...I%26#39;m back to reality now. sigh

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions!

Venetian suites look amazing and they have an offer at the moment but it onlt goes to the beginning of Sept :-(

Hopefully they may extend it?

Yes we do drink wine - but are not wine snobs or experts. Adding wine to siut each dish sounds great - only ever had the same bottle with all 3 courses before (if it lasts!! LOL!)

Thanks again!

The Wynn, panoramic view room, and order room service! That to me would be soooooo romantic! The staff at the wynn are very accomadating and would really help you plan this!
