background--going for our 15 yr anniversary, husband 45, i%26#39;m 37, have a 9 month old (left at grandma%26#39;s)approximately our 7th time going
airlines--took southwest nonstop from albany. was able to check in online and got %26#39;a%26#39; tickets both ways. no problems. full plane each way.
rental car--signed up for the blue chip member for free. got a compact car for 5 days for $78. went straight to where the cars were. there is a booth there where i picked up my agreement then proceeded to pick out my car. it was a dodge caliper?? new, with 7000 miles on it. only problem with it was that it was a hatchback. on our departure day we like to leave the luggage in the back but was afraid this time since you could see the luggage. had to store luggage with bell captain.
hotels-- stayed at both harrahs and flamingo for 2 nights each..at harrahs stayed at the mardi gras tower 5th floor. it was a remodeled room with the tv in the bathroom. had safe (my priority).. beautiful view of a/c equipment. no noise from the carnival court in my room. in flamingo i was on the 22nd floor in a GO room with view of bellagio fountains. this room also had a safe, and a tv in bathroom. only problems with room were the frosted door to bathroom didn%26#39;t close all the way, and some of the lights in room didn%26#39;t work. no problem for me.
gambling/ blackjack--i%26#39;m mostly a slot player. i hit a couple of $340 on a $1 double double diamond machine, and i hit 3 double diamonds for $625 on a quarter machine. my husband loves bj. he only plays the 3/2 bj tables where they were mostly $10 on strip(or higher of course). found them at harrahs, imperial palace, paris, and ph. the best $5 bj was binions with a doubledeck for the 3/2 payout.
buffets--for breakfast enjoyed the rio and harrahs.
for the dinner buffets enjoyed harrahs the best (from the others we went to which was paris and flamingo). didn%26#39;t care for flamingo. quality or quantity was lacking.
binion steakhouse---i enjoyed this a great deal. made reservations and was seated immediately no problem with a view. it stated proper attire required, even though we were dressed up, others were in shorts, jeans, flip flops. both our steaks were beyond excellent. we used the coupon for acg and they took off the $40 without a problem.. we didn%26#39;t have appetizers/salads/dessert but a couple of beers and our total was $41. well worth it. this was the only coupon i actually used from acg.
beer pong m %26amp;g. met some really great people including tina, pags, vegasukfan? (sorry if i forgot name), and a bunch of others. i%26#39;m so glad i went. i only played one game myself and i now know i completely lack the skills required for this game!!!lol...it was a great time. i know others were taking pics and i hope they post them in their tr.
i want to thank pags for setting up that m%26amp;g. a real great time and now wonderful memory for me!!
my only bummer was my child got sick while i was gone and i couldn%26#39;t help but worry, worry, worry. but all is well now and i can%26#39;t wait until my next trip!!!

Great Trip Report. Nice hits on the slots!
I was wondering about the $40 coupon for Binions. Is there a minimum purchase?

Hi Melissa- Enjoyed your TR. Sorry your child was sick, hope all is good now. I agree with the Flamingo buffet, at least the lunch. We always go to Margaritaville, same price, better food and much fun! Those GO Room lights must be for decoration, we had a large group there and no ones worked! Glad you all met up for beer pong. We checked it out but no one wanted the ball going in their beer after it had been all over the floor. Guess if it would%26#39;ve been martini pong it wwould%26#39;ve killed the germs! Great way though to meet other TA%26#39;s. Binion%26#39;s sounds so good, and good deal. Thanks for your TR.
I might just have to try it. Planning an evening downtown when I go in May. I have the coupon, just don%26#39;t have it with me right now.
thanks for the TR. BTW I love Binions and won%26#39;t be making it there this trip which makes me a little sad=( There is just not enough time!
Melissa sorry to hear your child was sick. That is the hard part about leaving them. OUr son was sick one of the days we were gone and I felt bad. It was great to meet you at beer pong. How fun was that? We had a blast! Take care, I%26#39;ll have to post our trip report soon! Mary Ann and Todd
I am happy to know that someone else appreciates a good steakhouse like Binion%26#39;s as much as I do. I have had memorable dinners there that were hands down better than most other steakhouses on the strip. The views are excellent from the restaurant and the cocktail lounge, the service is prompt and my steak has always been tender and coked to my exact specification. There is nothing on the planet that compares to a perfectly cooked ribeye served up with an ice cold Grey Goose martini.
melissa it was great to meet you.. Sorry your child got sick.Maryann said she took a ton of pics cant wait to see them....
good tr mel , glad to have met you @ beer pong !!!!
