Hi everybody,
Last week, I spent five nights at the Wynn in Vegas and for the first time ever played at a casino with my brother who just turned 21. I went all out and played a little bit everything, sports book, slots, tables.
All in all, I have to say we both played an average of five hours or so per day. Also, we both loaded up on Wynn players points. All in all, we did 4 free buffets and got one night comped. And we left with our pockets a little heavier than when we arrived. Also, the Wynn%26#39;s executive host left us his calling card and said to book through him next time. What is that about?
Now, I can%26#39;t wait to go back again! But, I want to try a new casino other than the Wynn. Any suggestions? Thanks
Best Casino in Vegas?
why switch?
for me you have found one of the ';best'; properties in LV and there is no good reason to switch. You have discovered a true gem. yes, many want to casino hop and trying a new one for s short while may be fun - you have a wynn host who is willing to work with you, the casino limits were to your liking and it%26#39;s a stellar property.
the host is someone you contact when you want to retuen - based on your past play he may comp your rooms up front, or offer a deep discount on the room prices. he can also facilotate reservations for golf, restaurants and shows. working with a host is invaluable and if you played enough to have a host a wynn definitely work with him.
charleston is one of my fav places, peninsula grill and cru cafe, kickin%26#39; chicken, andolini%26#39;s, Yo B and taco boy on folly and poe%26#39;s on sullivan%26#39;s island all wonderful. there is great food in LV, I prefer Chucktown%26#39;s chocies though. And boy, a steak at Oak rivals delmonico for half the $$.
If you do switch consider venetian, MB and Hard Rock - based purely on your age - keep away from the BJ at HRH, the pool scene in summer, sportsbook, craps, Vp all good - and a GREAT vibe.

If you are winning...
The ';best'; casino in Vegas is the one you are in.
If you are losing, it is the one you are about to head out to.
Actually, you could replace ';winning'; with ';having an enjoyable time';, but often in Vegas they are synonymous.
Since you have seen the top of the market, seek out the other end of the spectrum as well.
Visit the El Cortez, or some other Downtown joint. They have all the same table games, machines, sports book, etc.
....along with a different perspective, a hint of grungeness, the feeling of ';Old Vegas';, and some local color.
Wynn is the best. why would you want to change, the host will probably comp your next stay and do other great things for your stay.
You could always go out and play at other casinos to see if you get the same vibe as you do at Wynn
There is None better than the Wynn.
The question is far too subjective for any sort of concensus to ever be reached.
People have said that Wynn is the ';best';. Many visitors who spend a huge amount of their Vegas time gambling wouldn%26#39;t even dream of setting foot in the Wynn. Some people would only ever gamble at lower end ';fun'; places like O%26#39;Shea%26#39;s or Casino Royale and swear that they%26#39;re the ';best';. A buddy of mine who goes to LV twice a year only ever gambles at the Golden Nugget. Why? Because he thinks it%26#39;s the ';best';. Go figure......!!
The question should really be worded ';Favorite Casino in Vegas?';
hightide, my advice is to try lots of different places. Upmarket, lower end, off-Strip and Downtown. All have good and bad points and all are a part of the Vegas experience.
hightide, can I ask how much you both spent gambling during your 5 days?
I agree with Amberloo. If you hadn%26#39;t won at Wynn, you probably wouldn%26#39;t consider that the %26#39;best%26#39;. My %26#39;favorite%26#39; places all have great atmospheres, a good vibe (whatever that is) and a place where I can at least play a while on my money or win. It%26#39;s all about the personal experience.
The Western is like no other casino in town.
I%26#39;m going to ditto Loveland on this one.
Sighhh there are no good ole time casino%26#39;s/ hotels left in Vegas, they blow them up on TV...I miss seedy old Vegas.. But if you must. i still Like the Las Vegas Hilton, because I think they have the finest sports book in town....:o) Ms. Traci
