Help me decide

I know I can stay at Wynn for $119. But I%26#39;m not really sure I want to. As ';nice'; as it is, it just doesn%26#39;t do it for me. And I was just up that end of the Strip at Palazzo 3 weeks ago and Wynn last year.

My other option is to stay in a Bally%26#39;s North Tower room for $70. I L-O-V-E that location, and I%26#39;ve stayed in Bally%26#39;s several times so I know it%26#39;s not the Ritz but it%26#39;s really fine (my favorite Bellagio is just more than I want to pay - $209 for Lakeview. It%26#39;s not about the true dollar amounts, but really about my ';perceived value'; if that makes any sense).

If we stayed in Bally%26#39;s, we%26#39;d have dinner at Prime, The Palm, and maybe Mesa Grill and/or the Burger Brasserie in Paris.

We DO have tickets to Jersey Boys one night so will go up to Palazzo for that and probably eat at Grand Lux again.

My question is, am I crazy for not choosing Wynn for such a great price? Last trip to Palazzo and trip before to MGM we kept saying ';we can%26#39;t wait to get back to our favorite corner';.

We even thought about splitting the trip 2/2 - but if I stayed Wynn I%26#39;d be sorely tempted to eat at Alex, and that sure is off the ';perceived value'; Richter Scale.

I don%26#39;t have to decide right away but I%26#39;m just wondering what some of you would do.

Help me decide

Maybe stay at Paris?? Might be between the others pricewise. Also, did you call Bellagio? Do you have a players card, if so you could check with Casino Marketing there and maybe get a better rate, doubt it%26#39;d be for as low a price as you got offered by the Wynn, though!

Help me decide

The $159 rate at Bellagio is through their card/e-mail promotion - it would be my choice to add the $50 for the lakeview upgrade - other times we%26#39;ve stayed there the offers have come with the ';free lakeview upgrade'; but not this time.

I don%26#39;t care about staying at Paris because Bally%26#39;s is cheaper and in virtually the same location with huge rooms.

Since you LOVE Bally%26#39;s North Tower, I would stay there. If you love it, why change? You will still be paying less for somewhere that you know you love. That%26#39;s JMO.

MGM-player is right. Why force yourself to stay at Wynn if you%26#39;re not enthused about it. There will *always* be some great bargain somewhere that you didn%26#39;t take advantage of.

I know, seems like a no-brainer. BUT I just can%26#39;t figure out why we don%26#39;t care for Wynn when everyone else in the world does, and thought maybe staying there again would help us figure it out. We only stayed for ONE night last year before heading to AZ.

And I didn%26#39;t say I LOVED Bally%26#39;s, I said I loved that Flamingo Ave. corner.

If I could get Bellagio or one of the new towers in Caesar%26#39;s for $119 there would not even be an issue.

Okay, how about this - get reservations for Bally%26#39;s, and keep an eye on Bellagio and Ceasars. If the price drops for one of them, take them up on it and cancel Bally%26#39;s.

1st off, If you are happy at Bally%26#39;s stay there. It%26#39;s your vacation do what you want.

And ';perveived value'; is everything, that%26#39;s how most of us choose where to stay.

To me there%26#39;s a much better value at Wynn for $119 (a good rate) as opposed to Bally%26#39;s at $70 (a normal rate). And the thought of paying more to stay at Bellagio than Wynn is incomprehensible. But that%26#39;s JMO.

Oh one more thing; if you do decide to stay at Wynn, and maybe use the pool or spa, relax a little, have breakfast at Tableau or dinner at Alex, you are going to remember how special this trip was for a long time. Could you say the same thing if you stayed at Bally%26#39;s.

There%26#39;s nothing wrong with Bally%26#39;s, we%26#39;ve stayed there a few times. Only you can decide what kind of trip you would prefer.

Thanks ktinca...I really appreciated all the input from everyone, but you really crystallized it for me.

Sometimes you just gotta say WTF...

I was really thinking about why I don%26#39;t like the Wynn, and I really have decided it was more about me than them.

We only stayed for one night last July before heading to Phoenix to visit my mil...a terrible trip, first time seeing her since my fil had passed in May. We rented a car and had NOT wanted to take the Strip up to the Wynn, but couldn%26#39;t take a left out of the rental car place so ended up crawling up the Strip in the heat and congestion. Also, the a/c was not working right, and I spent the whole time worrying about bringing the car back the next morning to get a new one with a/c that worked (you DON%26#39;T want to drive across the desert with crappy a/c). So that%26#39;s in the back of my mind.

We ate at Tableau which was really wonderful, but I got the wine pairings which proved too much for me and I really felt sick by the end of the meal.

We never got a chance to use the pool because we had to be in Phoenix by a certain time - but luckily when we started the car the next morning the a/c was working fine so that was one less delay.

I also thought the room was tacky - didn%26#39;t care for the brown walls and white furniture...but you know what, it%26#39;s very unlike my decor at home, and why not?

So I don%26#39;t really think I%26#39;ve given it a fair chance.

Alex will be wonderful. Just remind me not to get the wine pairings :)

I love the GN, have stayed there many times. This trip is about Wynn v. my Flamingo corner.

And darn if I didn%26#39;t JUST get an e-mail from Caesars - $150 for their crud classic room.
