Guy Savoy or Piccasso - really need some advice

Ok, been to LV many times. Eaten @ Michael Mina%26#39;s, Bouchon, B %26amp; B %26amp; Joel Roubichon.

It is my 40th and it is her treat. We are torn between the 2.

FYI - I love to order around our wine selections for the evening.

HELP!!!!!!

Guy Savoy or Piccasso - really need some advice

I don%26#39;t know about Guy Savoy, but Picasso is wonderful!

Guy Savoy or Piccasso - really need some advice

Any advice would really be appreciated as the restaurant reviews on this site for these 2 locations are somewhat limiting

I%26#39;ve been to Picasso but not (yet) to Guy Savoy - GS would be my choice. There are other sites with many more higher end restaurant reviews - try egullet.com for starters...but keep in mind the posters on those kinds of boards aren%26#39;t the most down to earth and do try to one up one another. But you can get some good info.

Thx WW,

Any others opinion%26#39;s?

Ed

Good choices - I don%26#39;t think you can go wrong with either. They are two of only three restaurants awarded two stars by the prestigious Michelin guide (the third, Alex, could be another great option). Maybe check chowhound.com for people%26#39;s reviews, search under the Southwest board. Hope that helps!

Go with Guy Savoy. While Guy doesn%26#39;t run the location in Las Vegas, his son does, he has overseen every aspect of the menu. Only thing to keep in mind is that it is a VERY long commitment. It isn%26#39;t so much a meal as it is an experience. Be prepared to spend 3-4 hours there for dinner.

I%26#39;ve been to both and really enjoyed both but not as much as Robuchon and Alex. I slightly prefer Guy Savoy because of a nice tasting menu and a dish that my girlfriend really loved (turbot) but there is basically no drop-off in quality.

However, if you are looking at tie-breakers, for tasting menus, Savoy has the edge. For sheer numbers of wine selections (mostly French) Savoy%26#39;s wine list is bigger. They actually bring it out on its own stand--I am not kidding. However, Picasso%26#39;s is an excellent collection as well and they won a Wine Spectator award.

If you like artwork, there are paintings, tiles, etc. from the artist. It may be valued at $50M although I would only pay about $20 for the entire collection. Can you tell I%26#39;m not a Pablo Picasso fan?

However, the big edge that Picasso (restaurant) has is the view of the Bellagio Fountains. Music is not very audible but view is great.

If you are in the mood for a tasting menu, I would go with Savoy. For a view, Picasso. If you like Picasso%26#39;s art then you probably would not have even asked.

Finally, you could flip a coin. Although I like Savoy a bit better the decision is that close.

I would definitely give the edge to Guy Savoy, the food is excellent %26amp; service is superior. It is definitely one-of-a-kind culinary experience, the setting is very elegant %26amp; overlooking the Roman Plaza, it is truly a incredible gourmet restaurant with a great experience. You can check out the menu on Harrah%26#39;s website, to see what they have to offer %26amp; you can check out the wine list.

click on LV, then hotel (Caesars) then dining, then restaurant, then view menu.

Have a great 40th experience in Vegas with the best food %26amp; superior service.

I%26#39;ve recently been to Picasso and have been to Guy Savoy in Paris but not in Vegas. I loved Picasso and thought their attention to detail was amazing. That said there were a few hiccups throughout but nothing too outstanding. The food was fantastic and the sommelier was wonderful. He really not only poured the wines but educated you on them. In Paris at least, I found the service at Guy Savoy pretty obnoxious.

I%26#39;d say Picasso just because I really, really liked their sommelier and you seem to be into wines. He is very approachable, friendly and a step above most sommeliers in my opinion.

If money is no object, I%26#39;d give the nod to Guy Savoy. Although Picasso is excellent, I thought Guy Savoy served better food, more interesting food, and was just more fun. On the other hand, you%26#39;re paying for it: Guy Savoy is likely to cost twice as much as Picasso.
