where to stay near UNLV

My friend is taking a group of preteen girls to UNLV for dance instruction in July. I%26#39;m trying to help her find appropriate accommodations close to the campus - Clean, safe, quiet and not more than $150 night. Any help is sincerely appreciated.

I%26#39;m not really familiar with hotels right around UNLV, but the strip is less than two miles from the university, so your friend could stay on the strip if she wanted. MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Paris, and Bally%26#39;s are all within two miles (5 minutes driving) and might have rooms around $150 or less. Also, off-strip, the Westin Casuarina and Hard Rock hotels are even closer to UNLV and might fit the price range. Hope that helps!

I wouldnt take a group of preteen girls to the Hard Rock. If you want to be in a casino there are probably better choices for that age group.

Since you say quiet I assume you are looking for more hotel without the casino. For that check out either Amerisuites which is on the corner of Harmon/Paradise on the edge of campus or Embassy Suites on Paradise which is also right there. A little further but less than 2 miles you can go to Marriott Residence Inn and some others The Fairfield, etc further down Paradise or the Doubletree off of Warm Springs.

You might consider Terribles or Tuscany (both on Flamingo), Best Western McCarren (Tropicana and Paradise), or any of the many places on Paradise.

Quiet rules out Hooters.

If you go on the UNLV site, they have a list of suggestions on where to stay nearby.

Brand new Hyatt Place wich usually is under $150 and thr rooms are like suites. www.hyatt.com

Also the Doubletree is near UNLV and is usually under $150 also.

The Las Vegas Hilton is not to far from UNLV.....nice place. Ms. Traci

I second Embassy Suites at Paradis, almost within walking distance (at least for me). Newly renowaited room, great breakfeast. I staid there last September.

Thanks for the tips everyone. The UNLV site does list local hotels. You%26#39;ve helped narrow that down.

I agree with the Embassy Suites as well. I%26#39;ve stayed there before. But it%26#39;s not on Paradise, it%26#39;s on Swenson St.
