Need help packing!!

Hello all! I just saw US Airways is charging $25 for an extra bag that is 50 pounds. I usually for an 8 day stay have a large suitcase and a medium one and the smaller one for bath products. My question is what are ways to pack lighter? How much clothes do others bring for that long? What to bring and not to? Please help so I don%26#39;t have to pay the extra $50 for extra luggage!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Need help packing!!

For me, I was bringing to much clothes, I didn%26#39;t know what I wanted to wear while I%26#39;m there, so now I decide what I%26#39;ll be wearing, %26amp; one nice outfit for the fine dining %26amp; shows, same with the shoes. I use the bath products that they provide, or go to Walgreens %26amp; get the small things I need while I%26#39;m there. I used to always over-packed, %26amp; hubby wasn%26#39;t happy with me, I%26#39;ve gotten better.

Thanks for the great ideas! Looks like NWA has the same policy but if you purchased the tickets for March you still get the 2 bags free.

Thanks for the help!

I%26#39;d say cut down on the bath products especially if you need a separate suitcase for them. If you like your own shampoo etc, get some small plastic bottles and pour into them. I use those zipper bags that sheet sets come in and throw my lotion/shampoo etc. in there. If you want to bring your own stuff and not purchase there or use the hotel stuff, buy the travel size of things. Don%26#39;t take a hairdryer.

If you%26#39;ve been before, you probably know that what kinds of clothes to bring. If you%26#39;re going in the summer and do the pool, that means you%26#39;re wearing a bathing suit all day. I used to bring too many clothes cause I wanted ';option'; - now I know what I will and won%26#39;t wear. Take you suitcases out, what fits goes, what doesn%26#39;t fit, doesn%26#39;t - easy as that.

Google %26#39;packing tips%26#39; - they tell you how to actually pack to make things fit- like rolling tshirts etc.

You%26#39;re bound to get the responses from people who say, I can travel for 3 weeks with a carry on! UGH.

I usually buy trial size products for my trip. That way, at the end of the trip if they aren%26#39;t quite gone, I just throw the rest away. That way I have room for some purchases on my way home :).

I know some people that UPS some of their stuff to the hotel ahead of time, but I%26#39;m not sure if all hotels will accept packages - so ask first! If you plan ahead, shipping a box of clothes would cost less than $10 each way. I%26#39;m not sure I could do this one. I%26#39;d be nervous about not getting it.

I think it is easy for women to change their shoes and accessories and make an outfit go from daytime to evening. I often wear a dress with flats and minimal jewelry during the day and then change to heels and dramatic jewelry for the evening.

Have a great trip!

You do get two carryons. A small suitcase can be brought on board along with a bag that can go under the seat. So you really just need to eliminate the medium case. The trick is to go with neutral colors as much as possible so that you can wear each piece of clothing in as many outfits as possible. As far a bath products, you may want to rethink what you bring or buy them in Vegas.

When I go, I only pack one pair of dress pants or a black dress for the one or two evenings out, match that with a black pair of heels and your set, just change jewelry or belts or scarf to mix it up.

I bring a pair of light light pants or shorts and t shirts for each day. One light jacket.

shoes take up space so, as I said before, one pair of black heels, everything else is for comfort, a pair of flip flops (for pool time and hangin around the hotel) %26amp; a pair of walking shoes (youll need your most comfortable) most people bring runners but I find my feet get really uncomfortable in them after hours in the heat, I have a pair of super comfy close toed sandles that I bring.

as what others said...I do the same with toiletries, you can usually buy your fav shampoo %26amp; conditioner in travel size, you dont need a hair dryer, I bring my flat iron.

Now, I dont ';party'; in Vegas, so I only need to really dress up for one or two nights, if you are going clubbing every night the shoes may be an issue, but club clothes dont usually weigh much or take up too much space.

think logically %26amp; if your going to be walking around alot, think comfort.

Have fun.
