Caesar%26#39;s in mid strip and close to action in either direction. Have fun.

mid strip

Harrahs has a great location and should be in your budget range.

I consider Center Strip to be the Flamingo Road intersection: Caesars Palace to the NW; Flamingo/Bill%26#39;s Gamblin%26#39; Hall to the NE; Bally%26#39;s/Paris to the SE; Bellagio to the SW.

Of those, Paris may be the nicest one in your price range, maybe Caesars if you%26#39;re lucky. Nothing ';wrong'; with Bally%26#39;s or Flamingo but those other two may have more of a ';wow'; factor for a Vegas virgin. Hopefully you%26#39;re not staying over a weekend or else all bets are off except for Bill%26#39;s, a great place for veterans who want to save their feet but maybe not so much for a virgin.

I agree that Harrah%26#39;s is a convenient choice.

Oh, if pool time is a priority, then (re)consider the Flamingo. It has the best pool likely in your price range (unless Caesars slips in).

For a great first impression, I%26#39;d probably avoid the following as a homebase: Imperial Palace, Casino Royale, Bill%26#39;s, Tropicana.

unfortunately paris and caesars are both around the $220 a night. not weekend . sun thro weds. is luxor or NYNY too far from centre strip ??

check the mirage... rooms may be fully renovated by september so they might be out of your price range but i got a great deal ($136 per night). i used a promotion through smartervegas.com

Luxor and NYNY are really to far south for your first time. I%26#39;d give the Flamingo a try if you realize some of the rooms are are worn, but Margaritaville is fun and the pool asd garden areas are very nice. The Mirage is a good choice, too, if it%26#39;s not too expensive.

I will most likely get shot down in flames for saying this but here goes :

Luxor/NY NY/Excalibur are totally acceptable hotels to stay in for a first timer and are probably within budget for this guy. The other strip hotels are walkable even ! OK its easier on the deuce but definately walkable.

My opinion folks........

i would choose Bills for a few reasons:

Center strip location

Great room prices

Access to the flamingo pool next door

Its VEGAS! you dont spend too much time on your room!

However if you are looking for luxury , then Bills may not be for you.

Luxor -more south, but I don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s anything wrong with NYNY location either. We stay at Monte Carlo and walk down to Flamingo, Planet Hollywood every trip. It is not that far at all. NYNY is right next door to MC.

We didn%26#39;t stay center strip our first trip - we stayed at MGM and the location was fine!

So I%26#39;m one of those that doesn%26#39;t think you have to stay dead center strip.
